Teresa Fout began her legal career in San Diego in 2004,
where she worked as an associate for a Trusts and Estates
firm, administering estates, probating wills, and litigating
will contests.
She was then hired by the San Diego City Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor, where she spent much of her time in jury trials prosecuting a variety of crimes ranging from shoplifting and illegal drugs to DUIs. She also worked closely with local government and elected officials on projects aimed at bettering the community by proactively reducing crime.
In 2008, she relocated to Ohio and opened a law practice focusing on matters related to the family: divorce, dissolution, collaborative law, mediation, and adoption. Ms. Fout has adopted her children and has personally gone through the adoption process herself. She also handles court-appointed Guardian ad Litem work, and actively advocates for alternative dispute resolution options in Canton, Ohio.
